About Tackle Football
FPYC Football is part of the Northern Virginia Youth Football League (NVYFL). NVYFL is the largest independent football league in Virginia and one of the most successful youth football leagues in the country. The league is comprised of 16 Youth Football Programs from Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William and Loudoun counties. NVYFL fields hundreds of teams and thousands of players annually.
League Information
The season begins at the beginning of August with practice. Games typically start the second weekend in September. We will open registration in May and offer discounted rates for early bird registrants. We will also conduct a youth football clinic in August.
The season is 7 games long with the opportunity for additional post season playoff games.
Practice is a Draper Drive Park. Our home games are played at Fairfax High School and away games can be at any of the 19 other club locations in the league.
There are three (3) things you can do now to prepare:
Get your DMV child/”walker” ID – IMPORTANT
All players must be weight certified each August. The only acceptable ID by the NVYFL for the weight certification process is the DMV Child ID aka “Walker” ID. Plan ahead! Do not delay addressing this issue. This process requires a visit to the DMV and allowing at least 2 weeks for the ID to be received in the mail. Note: DMV COVID policies may require you to make an appointment verses walk in. If your player already has a DMV Child/Walker ID, make certain it is current to include the correct address. Click on the DMV ID image above for further details.
