FPYC 2024 Spring/Summer Select Basketball
NOTE: The Select program is competitive. THIS IS NOT A HOUSE LEAGUE PROGRAM; your child must tryout and is not guaranteed a spot on the team nor is s/he guaranteed playing time.
Not every player who tries out will be selected for a team. Those not selected for a team after tryouts will be refunded the registration fee in full.
You must register and attend tryouts to be considered for a team. Players are strongly encouraged to attend all tryouts or as many as possible to be properly evaluated. If you have conflicts with tryout dates, or if you have questions, contact the coach for your age group. We understand that there may be some conflicts with other spring sports and will work around that as much as possible.
FPYC spring/summer select program is for talented boys & girls in rising 5th grade thru rising 8th grade, who want to have fun, develop more advanced basketball skills and play more competitive basketball games. Playing on a spring/summer select team does NOT guarantee a spot on a winter select team. Depending on the team makeup, some coaches take a larger roster for the spring/summer league to account for summer vacations, other sports and time away, to make sure there are enough players for the games.
The program consists of two parts; spring training one or two nights per week and possibly optional spring tournaments, and summer league games beginning in June after school is out and are typically one or two nights per week on Monday-Thursday (sometimes a Friday) evenings and running thru July.
If you have questions regarding the spring/summer select program, contact the coach for your age group.
The coach may choose to perform an initial cut after each tryout to get the numbers of players trying out to a more manageable level. We will determine the number of teams and the level of play AFTER the tryouts have been completed.
