registered your child, please contact us asap at [email protected].
12/7/2016 Registration has opened for Spring Track & Field. When registering, please take care to correctly enter your email contacts. If the email is not entered correctly, you will not receive the team updates. Please note that we will not be sending out team updates until close to the start of the season. The schedule will be posted next year. We hope to have it confirmed by early February. Please see the link for the 2016 schedule. The practice locations and times will be similar. Please review the FAQ link and the other links on our running page for information about the team. We look forward to seeing everyone in the spring.

On Thursday, August 25th, we will be having our “Meet the Coaches” event at the Fairfax Pacers running store from 6:30-7:30 p.m. This is an opportunity for parents and athletes to meet some of our coaches prior to our first practices and ask questions about the season. Attendance is not required, but all are welcome.
Pacers running store is offering a 15% discount for FPYC members on purchases. There is no requirement to purchase anything, but their staff is willing to answer questions about running shoes and assist families who wish to purchase new shoes or other items. The store is located at 10427 North St. in Fairfax.
Update on Falls Church: We will not have a coach/location for practices in the Falls Church area at least for September. We will update in the future if that becomes a possibility. Please see the link for 2016 Cross Country Schedule on the FPYC running webpage for the most up to date information on our schedule this fall.
Coach Andrew has offered to lead a few Sunday runs prior to the start of our cross country season. These will take place at Lake Accotink on August 21st, August 28th, and September 4th at 7:00 a.m. Meeting place is under the train trestle. To participate in these runs, the runner must be registered for the 2016 X-C season and be able to run 4 miles at no less than 10 minute per mile pace. Coach Andrew has also indicated that he will need another parent/coach to help him make the runs happen. Please contact the directors at [email protected] if your child intends to participate so that we may pass this information on to Coach Andrew.

FPYC Running Families:
Our names are Geoff and Lynda Hymans, and we have assumed the roles of Co-Directors of FPYC Running. We have been involved with the program for several years, and have three children currently on the team. We have been incredibly impressed by the program during our involvement, and we hope to continue its high performance. Please contact us with any questions or issues at [email protected].
We are preparing for the Spring Track & Field season. If you have signed up and anticipate needing uniform this year (either because your children are new to the program or your child has outgrown the uniform they had), please send us an e-mail to let us know how many uniforms you will need and what sizes.
Our practices will generally be on Tuesday at Van Dyck Park(3720 Old Lee Highway Fairfax, VA 22030) and on Thursday at Sidney Lanier Middle School (3801 Jermantown Road Fairfax, VA 2203). We are currently exploring opportunities for other locations but have not yet finalized anything. We will update you once any possibilities have been finalized through e-mail. Practices will be from 6:00 – 7:00 pm.
If you are interested in coaching, please sign up ASAP through the FPYC registration process. There is a preseason coaches meeting on Feb. 28th.
No experience is necessary, just a love of running or field events and a desire to help the kids succeed.
The preliminary schedule for the season has been posted under the “2016 Spring Track and Field Schedule” on the left side of the web page.
Once again, it is our privilege to have become the Co-Directors of this amazing program, and we welcome you all to the team! Go Cheetahs!
